Original painting by Francesco Grassi (Concorezzo, 1940), depicting a luminous spring landscape immersed in color. The scene features a wide meadow rich with multicolored flowers in the foreground, trees in full bloom and, in the background, a characteristic white cottage nestled in the countryside, beneath an intense blue sky. The composition conveys a sense of luminosity and the peak of the spring season. Particularly interesting is the painting’s materiality: the color is applied with dense, impasto-like brushstrokes, with numerous touches of yellow, red, pink, blue and green that build the vegetation and the flowers across a rich painterly surface. The work is executed in oil on canvas, 40 × 30 cm in size, and is set in a significant antique gilded wooden frame, which further enhances the composition. On the back there is documentation relating to the work, with the artist indicated as F. Grassi and the subject “Spring Landscape.” A pleasant and decorative painting, characterized by a lively palette and a strongly material painterly technique, particularly suitable for a collection of Italian landscapes from the second half of the twentieth century.
