"The Wayfarer" is a life-size sculpture representing a woman on a journey, not toward a specific destination but within a personal path made of change, choice, and necessity. On the lips appears the phrase “We should all be feminists,” which introduces an explicit message related to gender equality. The figure includes symbolic elements to discover; the work is produced in a very limited series of only a few pieces and is made with low-impact materials such as geomalt and rice husk. It was created in the artists’ studio in Pietrasanta, where Francioni and Mastromarino have been working together for years, and is sold directly from the atelier with certification and shipping organized with protective packaging and documentation for export when necessary. Bronze pupils and a stainless steel aluminum hook ensure its durability; The Wayfarer is a symbolic sculpture and an altar to the strength and complexity of being a woman today. The sculpture is the result of the synergy of two artists, Francioni and Mastromarino, a pair of artists and lovers who have worked together for about 20 years in their Pietrasanta studio in Tuscany. The chosen materials minimize the pollutant percentage, as does choosing cardboard shavings as filler for the shipment.
