The text includes the famous woodcut engraving with the circular Jesuit monogram (IHS) and the nails of the Passion at the end of page 151, as well as detailed sections warning the reader (Praemonitio ad Lectorem) in which the papal condemnations of Innocent X and Alexander VII against the Five Jansenist Propositions are detailed. Provenance and Ownership History: This copy stands out for its exceptional documented historical lineage in its ownership marks: Early Provenance (17th Century): It originally belonged to the library of a Jesuit College. It bears the calligraphic handwritten inscription at the top of the title: "Collegii Societ. Iesu" along with an inventory number. The vellum spine preserves the original shelfmarks of the Jesuit arrangement (letter N, X and numeral 30). Modern Provenance (20th Century): It includes on the front flyleaf the full-page engraved ex-libris of the Dutch scholar, pedagogue and musicologist Jos Lenards (Joseph Lenards), a major promoter of the Ward Method and Gregorian chant. The woodcut is signed and dated in the plate by the renowned Benedictine monk-artist Dom Jérôme Leussink in 1945 (Abbey of Saint Benedict, Vaals), showing a rich iconography that blends ecclesiastical writing with sacred song. Condition: Original period binding in limp parchment. Structure and sewing firm with stable spine cords. The paper presents the usual patina of its more than 350 years, with uniform darkening and some foxing spots that do not affect legibility.
