Three English-language works, sold together in a single lot. Beautiful set of three works by Jim Woodring, American writer and artist renowned for his singular graphic universe, at the boundary of dream, the strange and the absurd. Published by Fantagraphics Books, this lot brings together two works devoted to the Frank universe and Seeing Things, a collection showcasing another facet of the artist’s work. The Frank stories are distinguished by their often wordless narration, expressive creatures and dreamlike landscapes. Jim Woodring develops a personal visual universe where humor coexists with strangeness and where the most familiar situations can take a surreal turn. With Seeing Things, the reader also discovers the artist’s graphic work outside this narrative universe, in a volume that complements nicely the two Frank volumes. This set thus offers a complementary glimpse into Jim Woodring’s work, both as a comics author and as an illustrator. Condition: The three books are in excellent condition.
