Frank Leyman, Heavitree a round wall clock, the twelve-inch painted dial having black Roman numerals, blued-steel spade hands and signed F. Leyman, Heavitree, with the single-fusee eight-day duration movement having an anchor escapement, with a round mahogany case, diameter 39cm. Notes: The watchmaker and jeweller Frank Leyman is recorded as working at 6, High Street Heavitree (now 44), on the outskirts of Exeter. He was originally apprenticed to John Parrish until setting up on his own account by 1887. by 1987 it was the oldest established business in Heavitree.
