Franklin Porcelain / Franklin Mint – Eva Dalberg –...

Superb collectible porcelain figurine Franklin Porcelain / Franklin Mint, from the series “Hi There!” created by artist Eva Dalberg in 1984. This charming piece depicts a panda comfortably settled, holding a bamboo branch between its paws. On it sits a small yellow and green caterpillar that the panda watches with curiosity, creating a scene that is particularly endearing and full of humor. This nice detail gives full meaning to the title of the work: “Hi There!”. The sculpture benefits from very fine modeling and painting work. The panda’s black-and-white fur is finely textured, as are its paws and their toe beans. The bamboo branch, its leaves, and the little caterpillar are carefully represented and bring color, relief, and realism to the whole. The panda’s expression and its gaze directed at the caterpillar bring a lot of life to this composition and make it a particularly endearing piece. Under the base is the original marking “Hi There! by Eva Dalberg”, along with the copyright 1984 and the initials “FP” for Franklin Porcelain.
