Franny and Zooey, Inscribed

SALINGER, Jerome David (1919-2010). Franny and Zooey . Boston: Little, Brown, 1961. A rare inscribed copy of Salinger's third book . Franny and Zooey comprises the short story "Franny," which appeared first in The New Yorker in 1955, and the novella Zooey , which appeared in 1957. The present copy is a second printing and inscribed: "July 2, 1963 / To Alvin Chereskin, With good wishes, J.D. Salinger." Only one other inscribed copy in the past 25 years is recorded in RBH. Octavo. Original charcoal cloth stamped in gilt (spine with slight lean). Publisher's printed dust-jacket (light rubbing and edgewear, slight fading to spine panel, a few closed tears repaired with tape to verso).
