Fraraccio – Large Sfilato of Frosolone 25 cm – White ABS and 420 INOX stainless steel – Italy Category Catawiki Traditional folding knives / Italian artisanal cutlery Description Up for auction is this fascinating and dramatic Fraraccio Sfilato, a faithful modern interpretation of one of the most iconic models from the Frosolone cutlery tradition, historic Italian capital of cutlery. With a total length of 25 cm and a blade of 11 cm, this knife represents the generous dimensions that made the Sfilato famous among farmers, breeders, and enthusiasts of traditional cutlery in Central-Southern Italy. The peculiarity of this specimen is its modern white ABS handle, a practical and functional solution that offers a comfortable grip and is immediately recognizable even when used outdoors. A contemporary reinterpretation that nonetheless preserves the spirit and characteristics of the traditional Sfilato of Frosolone. In addition to its traditional use in daily tasks, this knife was often part of convivial moments as well, used at the table to cut cold cuts, cheeses, and other products typical of local tradition. The blade is made of 420 INOX steel, a material appreciated for its corrosion resistance, ease of maintenance, and reliability in everyday use. Produced in the early 2000s by the historic Fraraccio cutlery, this knife blends artisanal tradition with modern practicality, making it particularly interesting for both collectors and enthusiasts of Italian regional knives.
