fratelli Ponziani - fratelli Ponziani - Candelabrum - Onyx, Bronze

These bronze and onyx chandeliers from circa 1880 are the product of Italian artistic production from renowned Florence bronze-working workshops (such as the historic Galleria Fratelli Ponziani foundry), specializing in eclectic and neorenaissance-style furnishings. Four Flames in Chiselled Bronze and Natural Onyx European Manufacture, Late 19th Century / Napoleon III Era (circa 1880-1900) Magnificent and scenographic pair of large antique-style chandeliers, an exalted expression of fine cabinetmaking and decorative bronze work of the late 19th century. The structure develops with a rigorous yet dynamic architecture, articulated around four flames supported by richly shaped arms with foliate volutes, finely hand-chiseled with meticulous attention to detail that enhances the plasticity and the chiaroscuro of the metal. The monumental stem is adorned with turned spools and rings in natural veined onyx (or quarry alabaster), characterized by warm amber-toned and translucent hues that create a luxurious chromatic contrast with the deep patina of the antique bronze. All culminates in a solid square base richly decorated in bas-relief. A masterpiece of eclectic taste, ideal to adorn prestigious homes, substantial tables, or antique consoles. A collectible piece of the highest aesthetic and decorative value, destined for the most discerning connoisseurs and lovers of furnishings from bygone times.
