An exceptional 18th-century unmounted fan leaf featuring a design of figures dressed in exotic , Middle Eastern-inspired attire, known as Turquerie. The upper border includes hand-painted fantastical animals. Below the fan leaf, a hand-written provenance sates that the fan was presented in 1720 as a wedding gift to Mademoiselle Henriette on the day of her marriage to Monsieur Cardon, a gift presented by noblewoman Madame la Duchesse du Maine. Additional provenance and lineage is further stated in the written text, enhancing the fan's leaf historical significance. Housed in a fan shadowbox.
