FRENCH COLONIES. 1722-H Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. Martin

FRENCH COLONIES. 1722-H Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. Martin 2.22-D.5, W-11840. Rarity-3. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. A hard, frosty example that exhibits a tinge of golden-olive to light rose-brown patina. Both the quality and eye appeal are superior in a lightly circulated example of this colonial era copper type, there being no pre- or post-strike blemishes of note. Obverse impression a bit tight to lower left, border into the tops of the letters MINI BENEDI, reverse impression drawn to 2 o'clock with both of the Ss at right engaged by or close to the border. Overall detail is bold, nonetheless, and the design is clear and fully appreciable. Very nice! Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 158629. NGC ID: 2AYJ.
