French school (XX) - Jachtbuit Fazant

This characteristic artwork is a classic hunting still life depicting a laid pheasant. The painting is executed in the tradition of traditional European genre painting and is housed in a monumental, gold-colored wooden frame. A hunting spoils still life with a cock pheasant. The bird is laid on a dark backdrop, with the characteristic reddish-brown breast feathers, the green-blue head with red eye area, and the spread wing structures with much attention to texture and light. It leans toward impressionism with a sturdy brushwork. The background is kept sober in deep green and earthy tones, placing all emphasis on the animal. Canvas dimensions: 55 cm length by 46 cm width Frame dimensions: 62 cm length by 54 cm width Condition: excellent! Ready to be hung.
