Fritz Haag is one of the Mosel's aristocratic estates, at Brauneberg, whose sun-trap slopes – the Brauneberger Juffer and its Sonnenuhr heart – were priced above all others on the river in the nineteenth century. Oliver Haag makes Rieslings of crystalline purity here. This is a Spätlese from the Brauneberger Juffer. 2018 was a warm, generous German vintage. David Schildknecht from Vinous gave it a rating of 93, Wine Spectator gave it 91, and Julia Harding MW gave it 16++ out of 20.
