fulgurite - Height: 80 cm - Width: 60 cm - 347 g - (2)

Fulgurites are pieces of natural, amorphous silica, very fragile, usually tubular in shape almost cylindrical, evoking a fossilized root, produced by lightning strikes. They are sometimes described as fossilized or petrified lightning. The rarest ones come from the interaction between a thunderbolt and sandy soil. The temperature of the materials can locally and instantaneously rise to several thousand degrees Celsius. This energy causes melting or even vaporization of siliceous materials along the path of the lightning inside the substrate, sometimes over several meters in length, and generally 5 to 20 mm in diameter. The naturally formed glass is not pure enough to be transparent. We offer these pretty specimens. They weigh 347 grams, measure 80 mm x 60 mm x 60 mm and are of a unique cylindrical shape. Very rare cylindrical tube.. We will ship it quickly, in careful packaging. Shipping is free.
