Stacked Consumption is an original oil painting from my Reclaimed Icons series, a body of work exploring mass-produced objects and the traces left behind by human use. The painting depicts three stacked McDonald’s food containers, transformed from disposable packaging into the subject of a contemporary still life. Once designed for convenience, speed and immediate disposal, these familiar objects remain after their original purpose has been fulfilled. Their folds, creases and worn surfaces reveal the traces of handling, consumption and everyday gestures. Unlike a single discarded object, the stacked arrangement introduces the idea of accumulation. Each container represents a separate moment of consumption, while together they form a layered record of human activity. In Reclaimed Icons, I explore how industrially manufactured objects, designed to be identical and replaceable, acquire individuality through use. Their imperfections become evidence of human presence, transforming ordinary packaging into singular contemporary relics. Through realistic oil painting, Stacked Consumption invites reflection on consumer culture, disposability and the unexpected value of objects that are usually overlooked.
