Genova De Luxe – Unbreakable Mainspring – Date – Swiss Mechanical Movement – 1960-1969 A distinctive vintage Genova De Luxe wristwatch from the 1960s, featuring an attractive combination of silver and gold-tone details and a classic Swiss mechanical movement. The watch presents a silver/champagne dial with applied faceted gold-tone hour markers, matching gold-tone hands and a central seconds hand. Particularly attractive are the larger decorative indexes at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock, which give the dial a strong mid-century character. At 3 o’clock, the watch features a framed date window with contrasting red numerals. The dial is signed Genova De Luxe, Unbreakable Mainspring, 21 and Swiss Made. Story & Heritage This Genova De Luxe is an attractive example of the wide variety of Swiss mechanical watches produced during the flourishing post-war period of the Swiss watch industry. Its dial proudly highlights several features that were important selling points at the time: a 21-jewel mechanical movement, an unbreakable mainspring and antimagnetic construction. Together with the date complication, these details positioned the watch as a practical and refined everyday timepiece. The decorative faceted indexes, gold-tone accents and contrasting red date display give the watch a particularly recognizable 1960s aesthetic. Rather than the minimalist approach found on many contemporary watches, this model uses texture, geometry and contrasting finishes to create a more expressive appearance. Today, its visible patina and signs of use form part of its authentic vintage character, preserving the appearance of a mechanical watch that has lived through several decades. A characterful Swiss vintage piece for collectors who appreciate original mid-century watches and distinctive period design. Internal Reference Number - ITM-958
