German School Munich Realism, 19th century. This beautiful Realism or late Romanticism painting comes from the German school, probably the Düsseldorf or Munich school around 1880-1890. The painting stylistically shows very strong features of the Düsseldorf School of Painting or the Munich School. Artists such as Hubert Salentin, Adolf Lins or Karl Heinisch created similar subjects. The painting possesses a noteworthy craftsmanship quality through the fine rendering of the garments, the loyal dog, and the atmospheric lighting in the canopy of leaves. Typical for this era is the detailed and unglorified, yet mood-evoking portrayal of rural life in contrast to a bourgeois lady with a parasol. Title: Idyllischer Sommertag Year: 1880-1890 Dimensions of the painting: 52.5 x 48.5 cm Framed size: 68.5 x 64.0 cm a very desirable and display-friendly format unsigned, contemporary framed, frame with no flaking The frame is not part of the auction, but will be provided free of charge to the successful bidder.
