Germany, Federal Republic. - 100 Mark - 1948 - Pick 15 (No reserve price)

Historical 100 Deutsche Mark banknote, first issue of the German mark, issued by the Bank Deutscher Länder in Frankfurt am Main on 9 December 1948. Nicknamed by collectors the "Roter Hunderter" for the distinctive red color of the printing. Variant: Kennbuchstabe B.29, Series 070169323 / 69323. Obverse: stylized portrait of a man wearing a cap, large inscription "100 DEUTSCHE MARK", seal BANK DEUTSCHER LÄNDER. Reverse: view of a medieval town (Bamberg), large inscription "HUNDERT DEUTSCHE MARK". Condition: Circulated. A horizontal and vertical central crease from use is evident, light age-yellowing, small edge tears (visible in photos) and rounded corners. No restoration, no washing, original period issue. A good collectible example for a rare type. Ideal for a post-war Germany / early Bundesbank collection.
