Germany - Heligoland & North German Post District...

Pre-unification period – Heligoland and the North German Postal District (1867–1875). Interesting lot on two album pages, consisting of stamped and unstamped stamps, a Heligoland entire cover (envelope with embossed value stamp) and a used postcard. Included are pieces from the first issues with the embossed bust portrait of Queen Victoria. The middle left section was explicitly marked by the previous owner as a "reproduction" (Berlin, Leipzig or Hamburg reproductions). Ideal for studying the different printing types and head designs. Beautiful selection of stamps, some with clear contemporary postmarks (including Hamburg and Berlin). Different condition; some pieces are mint never hinged (without crease marks), others canceled. Please note the detail pictures: The lot is photographed from the front and in side light to enable a precise assessment of the relief, perforation, and paper properties. Sold as pictured in its present condition; the stamps are unexamined. An ideal object for specialists and cancellation collectors.
