Giovanni Carnovali detto il Piccio (1804-1873) - Paesaggio con figure

Giovanni Carnovali, nicknamed "Il Piccio" (1804-1873), offers with this work titled Landscape with Figures a fascinating sample of his mature painting, placeable in the 19th century. The painting captures a pastoral view with a strong evocative pull, where two figures immersed in a crepuscular atmosphere move along a natural path, surrounded by vibrant and leafy vegetation. The painting technique is the one typical of his poetics: a loose, material, and fluid brushstroke, played on light touches and chromatic nuances that dissolve the rigidity of the academic style to make room for a purely visual and atmospheric emotion. The work, signed bottom left, is executed in oil on a premium mahogany wood panel that serves as the original support, measuring 30 cm by 16 cm and weighing 184 grams. To best valorizza it, the work is sold together with an elegant wooden pedestal handcrafted to measure, specifically designed to allow a minimalist and refined display.
