Gitzo, durst Cremalliere 2 Tripod

Gitzo, durst Cremalliere 2 Tripod

The wonderful lot in the images is a floor lamp composed of: a vintage Gitzo Cremaillere 2 photographic tripod from the 60s/70s, a professional aluminum support known for its exceptional robustness and structural stability. Main FeaturesCentral Rack-and-Pinion Column: The inscription “Cremaillere 2” indicates the presence of a rack-and-pinion central column. This mechanism allows micrometer adjustment of the height by raising or lowering the column via a crank, preventing abrupt drops of the camera.Finish Noir Décor: The metal fusion features the classic anti-reflective hammered coating typical of Gitzo’s historic production.Telescopic Legs: The aluminum legs with adjustable sections ensure stability even with heavy equipment or on uneven terrain.French Production (1960s-70s): The tripod was entirely designed and manufactured in France, at Gitzo’s historic Paris facility, before the brand was acquired in 1992 and production moved to Italy in the 2000s. The tripod is topped with a photographic enlarger, an essential piece of darkroom equipment used for analog printing transformed into a lamp, thanks to the large front lens the light of a small LED bulb is amplified, providing high readability/clarity.Details and Visible ComponentsThe image shows the projection head oriented horizontally (often used in this position to project the image onto a wall to obtain very large prints or to digitize film):Black bellows: Allows micrometric movement of the lens to adjust focus of the film grain.Regulator knob: Located on the chrome sliding bars to control the bellows extension.Enlarger lens: Mounted on the front of the bellows, equipped with a diaphragm ring.Optical head/housing: The larger black cylindrical section contains the illumination system and optical condensers to distribute light evenly.Support arm: The solid gray hammered structure that supports the entire optical block. The enlarger is produced by Durst, a renowned Italian company from Bressanone (Bolzano) that made darkroom equipment world-famous. Specifically, the metal frame with the typical gray hammered paint like the tripod, the arm design, and the micrometric locking and sliding system on double chrome bars are characteristic elements of the professional and modular models of the Durst M series (such as the Durst M700 / M800 line) or Durst Laborator systems. The lens mounted on the front of the bellows, recognizable by the classic black and red bands on the diaphragm ring, is a high-precision Schneider-Kreuznach optic (very likely a model from the Componon or Componar series), made in Germany, traditionally paired with these professional bodies. Very small signs of wear.Dimensionstools: maximum tripod height with light 220 cm, average 170 cm, minimum 95 cm. Tripod base width 50 x 50 cm. Only tripod with minimum height 56 cm; lamp height 40 cm; depth 36 cm; width 18 cm; total weight 7 kg
