Giuseppe Zola (1672-1743)

Atrr..Giuseppe Zola "Landscape with Wayfarers and Fortified Village" oil on canvas measuring 72x60 cm without frame and 84x78 cm with frame.. On the back there is the inscription Giù.Zola.F. The work has an old lining and light restorations.. Overall in good conservation state.. The painting shows the unmistakable compositional and stylistic framework of Giuseppe Zola's fortunate landscape production, a master of Brescia origin long active in Ferrara for the most prestigious local and Esteran commissions.. The canvas fully expresses the Arcadian and pre-Rococo taste of the artist, characterized by a restless and scenographic nature structured for tree-framed scenes that descend toward a mountainous and atmospheric backdrop. The refined alternation of shadowed areas and bursts of light, together with the typical fluid chromatic brushwork and the presence of small caricature-like figures in the foreground, finds strong echoes with the mature works of the painter today conserved at the National Gallery of Ferrara and the BPER Banca collection.. The important inscription found on the back significantly reinforces the connection to the Brescia master... Important Brescia Collection. The frame is offered as a gift; therefore we do not accept claims nor do we assume responsibility for any damage during shipping... We do not ship outside Europe... Not extra-EU shipments - Shipments cannot be made outside of the European Unio
