Glamorous Clip-On Earrings with Fancy Yellow and Pink Diamonds, Adler

The Geneva-based jewellery house Adler has always been known for its extraordinary use of colour and its masterful handling of precious gemstones. The family-owned business was founded in 1886 by Jacques Adler in Constantinople. As the capital of the Ottoman Empire, what is now Istanbul was a major trading center for gemstones, goldwork, and luxury goods. After training as a jeweler in Vienna, Adler opened his own workshop in Istanbul and established a family tradition that blended European goldsmithing with the vibrant color palette of the Eastern Mediterranean. In the early 1970s, the family shifted the company’s focus to Geneva, where Adler rose to become an internationally renowned house of haute joaillerie. This pair of earrings from the early 21st century is a particularly beautiful example of the house’s vibrant designs. The sculpturally curved pieces are crafted from high-karat gold and divided into three parallel bands. White gold, yellow gold, and rose gold each provide a color-coordinated backdrop for white, natural yellow, and rose-coloured diamonds. The stones, set close together in a pavé setting, cover the surfaces almost entirely and lend the ear clips a vibrant sparkle. In total, the ear clips are set with 120 white brilliant-cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.80 ct, 92 fancy yellow brilliant-cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.55 ct, and 110 fancy pink brilliant-cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.65 ct. The pink diamonds, in particular, are remarkable. According to the available gemological report, their characteristics indicate that they originate from the famous Argyle Mine in Australia, which for decades was the world’s most significant source of intensely pink diamonds and closed in 2020. Natural pink diamonds are among the rarest varieties of the diamond. With their interplay of three shades of gold and various diamond colours, these earrings combine precious materials with a distinctly modern design. Their clean lines and softly curved shape provide an elegant balance against the multi-coloured diamonds and gold. An independent gemmological report confirms the quality of the materials used.
