Gogmagog Press.- Cox (Morris) 'Blind Drawings' 1979, [one of only 5 copies] unnumbered but signed by the artist at end, printed on smooth paper, illustrations, original pale brown and white textured paper boards, paper label to spine, spine very slightly rubbed and faded, [Chambers 61, two types of paper used: Japanese & smooth paper], Gogmagog Photocopy Library, 1986; and 7 portfolios of original blind drawings, all signed & dated by Cox and with red BD stamp, preserved in mostly vellum-backed board portfolios, 1973-81; and several copies of a printed apologia explaining the purpose of the exercise, v.s. (9) *** A fascinating collection of drawings executed by Cox with his eyes shut, an exercise he had long practised and which served the basis of a printed book in 1978 followed by several for the photocopy library. The apologia states that the purpose is "To determine the principle that a combination of visualisation and a given speed of execution, without visual adjustment of the spacial relationships within the design, sets up a vital tension fundamental to the 'gesture' and spirit of true drawing".
