Gogmagog Press.- Cox (Morris) The Four Elements, out-of-series copy from an edition limited to 5 copies (of a projected 25) signed by the artist, unbound sheets printed on variously coloured Japanese handmade papers, with 2 photocopied typewritten slips tipped in and 4 tipped-in original embossed reverse/direct prints from collages, colophon with embossed pressmark and signed five times by Cox, disbound, preserved in folder, [Chambers 65], 1987; with the 4 original blocks of collages with varied textures, c.165 x 230mmm. (prints slightly trimmed at sides), preserved loose in box, [1970]; and 2 folders of loose additional leaves & prints (some photocopied) from the book, 4to, Gogmagog Press (4) *** The poems were written in 1934 and the text printed in 1970 but the work was not issued until 1987, when it was dedicated to the then recently deceased Stanley Lawrence of T.N.Lawrence & Son, Ltd. who had supplied the paper. Chambers notes that the prints were photocopied and therefore includes it under the Photocopy Library; the prints in this copy are not photocopies.
