The gold in this Lapland gold nugget existed before the Sun. It was forged more than 4.6 billion years ago in stellar explosions and collisions, before the Sun and the Earth even existed. It traveled through space as stardust and became trapped in the parent rock of Lapland, nearly 2 billion years old. Then it spent millennia under Arctic ice, until the thaw carried it to the rivers. Gold is not manufactured or printed: it is found. And there won't be more of it. In 1868, an expedition found it in the Ivalo River and sparked Finland’s first gold rush. In 1945, with the war just ended, men returning from the front climbed to Lemmenjoki to try their luck with gold. Even today, every summer, dozens of prospectors wash it under the midnight sun; the rest of the year, snow and polar night cover everything. Lapland produces very little gold, and no two nuggets are alike: this one is unique. Why do you need gold? Those men were coming back from a war and went to look for gold. It isn’t by chance: in every war, many of those who had to flee with the clothes on their backs took gold with them, because it fits in a pocket and is valuable across borders. Wars return today, debt keeps growing, and talk of collapse abounds. The money in your account is a bank promise; gold is nobody’s promise, and no government can print it. To survive a crisis you don’t need a bar, but something you can divide and exchange. That’s why nuggets are the most practical way to own gold: small, divisible, interchangeable, and recognizable anywhere in the world. The time to have them is before you need them. You will receive it in a small glass vial that protects it and lets you admire it without touching it. I ship as soon as possible after payment. A piece of the oldest Arctic beyond the Sun, to protect what you have. There is only one: bid on it. Ideal for: • Collectors of minerals and natural gold nuggets • Collectors of native gold of high purity • Lovers of the history of the Australian gold rush • Lovers of unique geological specimens • Those who value physical gold as a real, tangible asset • An extraordinary gift for someone special Important information for the buyer: The final auction price includes VAT.
