Great Britain 1865 - 1 Penny Carmine Rose

Rare official trial print produced under the supervision of the General Post Office, 25 years after the first issue, from all original plates in very small print runs. This piece has, as a special rarity, a fragment from the left sheet margin and is unperforated instead of perforated. The stamp mostly has original gum and four good margins. Unlike the 1840 issue, the stamps are crisper in print and have slight variations in gum and ink.
