Catalog of the exhibition organized by the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, 140 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, in 1937, dedicated to Domenikos Theotokopoulos, known as El Greco. Illustrated catalog presenting the exhibited works with descriptive and bibliographic notes. Numerous photographic reproductions both within and outside the text, notably *The Farewell of Jesus to Mary*, painted around 1590. The volume as a whole bears witness to the rediscovery and critical reevaluation of El Greco in France during the first half of the 20th century. An old and interesting publication for the history of exhibitions dedicated to the painter in France. Cover slightly browned and faded, with a few foxing spots and minor signs of wear; interior well-preserved.
