Grottaglie - Ceramica Trani - Coffee service (23)...

Elegant coffee service for 10 people in ivory-glazed ceramic from Grottaglie, Trani manufacture, consisting of a teapot with lid, creamer, sugar bowl with lid, and 10 cups with saucers. The set is made of ivory-colored glazed ceramic, with soft, rounded shapes. The decoration, applied by hand, features concentric bands in black, ochre, and gold, interspersed with an elegant stylized vegetal motif in turquoise blue and green, arranged as a garland around the cups, saucers, and the bodies of the vessels. The teapot, the main element of the set, has a globular body, a slender spout, and a loop handle; the lid is topped with a small spherical knob. The sugar bowl repeats the same form and decoration, as does the creamer, creating a striking overall uniformity. Also noteworthy is the shape of the cups, characterized by a low, rounded body and a wide handle, resting on saucers decorated with the same vegetal garland. The production is linked to the ceramic tradition of Grottaglie, one of the most important ceramic centers in Apulia. Good condition, minimal imperfections related to artisanal production.
