Gustave de Bruyn - Gustave de Bruyn - Flower pot - Ceramic - Antique pot GB

An antique majolica planter, the work of the renowned French master Gustave De Bruyn (1838-1916). This exquisite bowl was manufactured at the Fives-Lille manufactory in the early twentieth century. The piece features a relief decoration, typical of historicism and early Art Nouveau: expressive masks in the form of a satyr ("Green Man"), elegant golden volutes, and a rich palette of glazes (barbotine slip), combining intense garnet, cobalt blue, green, and golden yellow.
