Hand-Carved Brazilian Sodalite Owl Sculpture - Blue and...

Unique Ornithological Sculpture with Amber Eyes — This sculpture depicts a masterfully carved owl, crafted in Sodalite from Brazil. The mineral presents a splendid blend of deep blue tones, harmoniously merging with white and grayish shades, creating a natural marble-like effect that enhances the texture of the feathers. The artist has skillfully used the color variations of Sodalite to give depth and realism to the plumage, particularly on the wings and tail. The carving is executed with great attention to detail, capturing the essence and grace of this nocturnal raptor. Each feather is outlined with precision, giving the piece a notable sense of movement and liveliness. The owl’s eyes are made from a bright amber-colored material, which creates an attractive contrast with the cool tones of Sodalite, imparting a piercing and realistic look to the animal. Sodalite is a tectosilicate mineral known for its deep blue color, often veined with white or gray due to calcite impurities. Its beauty and relative softness make it a favored material for artistic carving. Exemplars of this quality, with such rich color and such refined sculptural execution, are highly prized by collectors. This piece is not only a mineral specimen of considerable value, but also a work of art that combines the intrinsic beauty of nature with artisanal craftsmanship. Its commanding presence makes it an ideal item to enrich a mineral collection, a home environment, or an office, adding a touch of elegance and natural charm. An extraordinary addition for any lover of mineral art or zoological sculptures. Any slight irregularities or color variations should be regarded as natural characteristics of the mineral and of the artisanal carving process, which confer uniqueness to each piece. The piece is presented in overall good condition, as evidenced by the photographs.
