Commemorative hand-painted silk souvenir handkerchief, dated 1941. The textile features a central hand-rendered illustration of the U.S. Lines ocean liner S.S. America at sea with smoke trailing from two funnels. The composition includes four corner motifs: a Cuban flag labeled CUBA, a United States flag labeled U.S.A., a nautical anchor intertwined with a heart and ribbon reading HOME SWEET HOME, and a ship's wheel emblem containing the text S.S. AMERICA U.S. LINES NEW YORK. Hand-lettered text along the left side reads S.S. AMERICA U.S. LINES. A cursive inscription on the right side reads SOUVENIR OF HAVANA CUBA - 10 - 3 - 1941.
