This handwoven designer kilim impresses with a traditional Afghan design, a clear geometric composition, and an unusually soft color palette. The combination of strong outlines and subtle pastel tones gives the rug an authentic ethnographic character that feels light and modern at the same time. The pattern is shaped by several large, vertically arranged diamond- and step-motifs. In the center are smaller geometric medallions, while the side areas are framed by striking, jagged ornaments. The consistent repetition of the shapes creates a balanced symmetry and gives the kilim its characteristic graphic effect. Color-wise, light blue, ice blue, cream, and soft green dominate. There are also accents in dusty pink, lilac, rust red, dark blue, and beige. In particular, the mix of cool blue variations with warm, muted red- and pink-tones makes this kilim versatile to pair with. The typical flat weave reinforces the handcrafted character. Through the use of wool, the kilim has a natural surface, while the visible weave structures and small irregularities emphasize the individual charm of a handmade piece.
