Stoneware, layered slips and engobes over manganese with incised linear markings, impressed HC seal H 20.5cm, D 37.5cm PROVENANCE: Private Collection, Leicestershire LITERATURE: Tony Birks, 'Hans Coper', Marston House, 2005; p.105 for a similar composite 'disc-form' pot. As noted there, 'One of several similar forms made by joining two huge bowls rim to rim, decorated with scratches like sparks from a catherine wheel.' CONDITION: One small, minor slip loss to the joined edge, otherwise in perfect condition with no damage or restoratio ceramics
