A wheel-thrown stoneware vessel of compressed globular form by North Carolina artist Harry Hearne of Turning Point Clay Studio. The piece features a complex, multi-layered glaze application characterized by thick drips and vibrant color variations including deep oxblood red, mottled seafoam and forest greens, and a hazy blue-grey. Areas of intentional glaze crawling and unglazed sections reveal a textured, sandy-colored clay body beneath. The narrow rim is finished with a matte, earth-toned glaze. The underside is incised with the artist's signature Hearne in a cursive script. A small circular white sticker on the base reads Rubin Collection 2018. The item is accompanied by an original artist biography flyer which identifies the artist as a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and specifies the materials as Raku clay fired to cone 6 oxidation. This pottery is intended for decorative purposes and is not watertight. Dimensions: 4.25"H x 6.25" dia. Dimensions: 4.25"H x 6.25" dia. Weight: 15.00oz Condition Request Condition Report Good
