Hartford, Connecticut. $10 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 479. National Exchange

Hartford, Connecticut. $10 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 479. National Exchange Bank. Charter #361. PMG Very Fine 25. A distinct rarity from the likes of Connecticut. This evenly circulated Series of 1882 $10 Brown Back issued by the National Exchange Bank of Hartford (Charter# 361) is nonetheless a scarce opportunity as this example is unique for both the type and denomination out of 55 recorded survivors. Here that distinction is met by solid eye appeal for the grade assigned along with extant penned signatures attributable to Cashier Elijah C. Johnson and President John R. Redfield that collectively lend an attractive quality to a note which has only traded hands twice in a public context per available records listed by the National Bank Note Census. PMG comments "Stains." Estimate: $700 - $900. Click here for certification details from PMG.
