Primitive passenger locomotive at center with ovoid counters emblazoned "2" seen at left and right. Below bank title and associated guarantee text. Subsidiary vignette in alcove at left evocative of Columbia opposite a similar, but smaller vignette depicting Columbia seated with eagle atop a rocky outcropping amidst rough seas. A total of (4) rounded POCs are concurrent with the signature panels and above the manufacturer's imprint at left. This institution ultimately became the National Exchange Bank of Hartford (Charter# 361) in 1864. Estimate: $400 - $600. Provenance: From the Caine Collection.
