Helena Mertens 1994 - "in motion"

Dear Sir or Madam, For sale is this hand-painted and hand-signed painting measuring 120x100 cm from 2025 by the Düsseldorf-based artist Helena Mertens. It is a unique piece titled "in motion." The painting is auctioned without the depicted canvas stretcher and without the wooden shadow gap frame and will be delivered rolled. The painting can optionally be picked up directly in Düsseldorf at the artist’s studio. An authenticity certificate has been issued and will be included. Inspired by the magic of Southeast Asia, this artwork stands for diving into unknown worlds and stems from the artist’s previous body of work titled "Finding peace": “The encounter with the new, the khácness, and the yet the same fascinate me and are central sources of inspiration for my artworks. 'Finding Peace' is a series in which I process special moments from my travels in Asia in various image formats.” The painting was created with oil, acrylic, and chalk colors; it is a mixed media artwork on raw canvas. Partially neon and fluorescent colors were used, giving the image a distinctive expression.
