Henri Joseph Pauwels (1903-1983) - Grande scène portuaire

H. Pawels – Large port scene – Oil on canvas – 96 × 74 cm Beautiful and large oil on canvas signed H. Pawels bottom left, depicting a bustling port scene with ships, tugboats and boats. A particularly decorative work, executed in a beautiful palette of gray-blue, green and ochre tones. The painter faithfully renders with great character the atmosphere of an industrial port, with energetic handling of matter and light on the water. Dimensions with frame: about 96 × 74 cm. Presented in an imposing gilded, molded frame, which shows the artwork to its best advantage. Condition: an antique painting showing signs of age and wear visible in the photographs. Any possible craquelure, irregularities and marks of time have been deliberately preserved. The frame also has patina and some signs of wear. Signature H. Pawels clearly visible bottom left. Very beautiful decorative piece of large format, ideal for a maritime art enthusiast, port scenes and antique seascapes. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
