Henri Joseph Pauwels (Haasdonk 1903 - Beveren-Waas 1983) was a Belgian painter of decorative landscapes, interiors, seascapes and Antwerp harbour views. In a poetic and optimistic, sometimes too virtuoso post-impressionist style with a loose brushstroke and a luminous color palette. Henri Joseph Pauwels brought to life the landscapes of the Waasland. Pauwels had a preference for classical landscapes, seascapes, harbor views of Antwerp and interiors. Henri Joseph Pauwels painted all this with a light impressionistic touch. Mentioned in Belgian art books. Internationally known painter. Oil on canvas (90 x 80 cm) in good condition. The signature is clearly placed in the lower right corner. Framed in good condition but with signs of wear.
