Herend Coppia di Tazzine con Piattino – Decori: "Queen...

Exclusive Pair of Herend Teacups with Saucers – Iconic Decors "Queen Victoria (VBO)" and "Eton" – Hungary, 1960s/1970s These splendid pieces in fine multicolored porcelain, hand-painted, come from the renowned Hungarian manufactory Herend, founded in 1826. The lot offers two elegant teacups accompanied by their respective saucers, expression of two of the brand’s most historic, sought-after, and iconic collections: 1. Teacup and Saucer – Decor: "Queen Victoria" (VBO) • Characteristics: The model features a magnificent and vivid oriental-inspired pattern with colorful butterflies and flowering branches painted at the center, surrounded by a distinctive and unmistakable border of softly shaded green fronds, richly trimmed in pure gold. • History: Originally created in 1851 for the Great Exhibition in London, this exceptional decor became famous worldwide when Queen Victoria of England fell in love with it at first sight and commissioned an imposing service for Windsor Castle, forever linking her name to this line. 2. Teacup and Saucer – Decor: "Eton" • Characteristics: The model presents a romantic and graceful floral motif dominated by a large softly shaded pink peony painted at the center, surrounded by small, lively bouquets scattered delicately across the white surface. • History: Created originally between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this decor reflects the freshness of traditional English spring gardens. It celebrates the harmony of nature by pairing the delicacy of Hungarian porcelain with the mastery of classic European naturalistic painting. Technical Details and Conditions Both models are adorned with refined 24-carat gold-plated rims and stand out for the characteristic embossed texture of the porcelain, known as the "Osier" weave, which faithfully reproduces the wicker interlacing with extraordinary elegance. The pieces are presented in excellent preservation, first choice, and without visible flaws. On the base of each item is regularly stamped the blue manufactory mark bearing the shield, the inscription "HEREND HUNGARY", "HANDPAINTED", accompanied by the model number and the decor identification initials ("VBO" for Queen Victoria, "ETON" for Eton). Based on the mark shown, production dates to the vintage period of the 1960s/1970s. Packaging and Shipping: We guarantee professional, meticulous, and generously sized packaging, made with high-quality protective materials to preserve the porcelain’s total integrity during transport. Timely and traceable shipping via express courier.
