Hermès - POSTE ET CAVALERIE by Joachim Metz - Foulard

Magnificent Hermès silk twill scarf titled "Poste et Cavalerie", designed by the artist Joachim Metz in 1987, reissued in 1989. Hand-rolled. Made in France. Hermès Paris logo, Hermès copyright, artist's signature J. Metz. Presence of a composition label. According to Arfon's dictionary of edited art squares, it is considered quite rare and fairly sought-after - last photo. A bit of history: "The sabretache is the flat leather bag that hung from the belt near the sword and which disappeared from the uniform of Cavalry officers in 1870. Around the central motif combining a sabretache ornament of a Hussar (1814) with an epaulette of a lancer of the Imperial Guard, connoisseurs find here various models in use in the armies of Louis XIV and the First Empire". New condition, in its folds. Stunning colorways. Will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number.
