Rare Hermès carré “Promenade à Versailles” — Hugo Grygkar, 1953 — Silk — 85×90cm Square in Hermès silk twill, model “Promenade à Versailles,” drawn by Hugo Grygkar in 1953. This historic model — one of the very first created for the house by Grygkar, also author of the famous Brides de Gala — depicts a promenade scene around the Apollo Fountain at Versailles, characters in late 19th‑century attire, red and black border adorned with a golden crest. Standard size about 85×90cm. Model referenced in the Dictionnaire illustré des carrés Hermès (G. Fontan, ed. Arfon) and regularly presented at auction houses (Bonhams, Cornette de Saint Cyr, Côte Basque Enchères) — a piece sought after by vintage Hermès collectors. Condition: old scarf (72 years) showing discoloration/color migration at the center and corners, caused by an accidental perfume spill on folded silk. The scarf remains bright for its age. It has been entrusted to a specialized dry cleaner. It will be carefully wrapped and sent with a tracking number.
