HITTITE BRONZE DAGGER WITH LUNATE POMMEL

Ca. 1600 - 1400 BC. A bronze dagger with a broad double-edged blade tapering gradually to a pointed tip and strengthened by a central rib. The blade is cast with a flared guard leading to a straight grip decorated with an incised crosshatched pattern. The hilt terminates in a broad lunate pommel.
