A classic and very decorative antique barometer wall-set, housed in an richly hand-carved wooden frame with graceful acanthus leaves and floral carving patterns. At the top there is a liquid thermometer with a scale in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. At the bottom is the round aneroid barometer with an open center, allowing the copper mechanism to be beautifully visible. The dial is marked with Dutch weather terms (Storm - Veel Regen - Regen or Wind - Veranderlyk - Goed Weer - Mooi Weer - Zeer Schoon) and the designation "Holosteric Barometer". At the back there is a metal hanging eye. Condition: In good, working condition with normal signs of use. The woodcarving is beautifully preserved and has a nice warm patina. Both the thermometer and the barometer function properly. Dimensions Height: 48 cm Width: 23 cm Depth: 4.5 cm Weight: 956 g. The lot will be packed with utmost care and shipped registered and insured with tracking. Pickup is also possible by arrangement.
