Holy Family in a domestic interior, following Murillo, Spanish school

Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions 94 x 71 cm; framed 108 x 86 cm. An intimate scene of the Holy Family in a simple interior, with the Virgin Mary seated on the left next to a laundry basket, Saint Joseph on the right, and the Child Jesus in the center, interacting with them both. The Virgin holds a spindle and a ball of yarn, the Child Jesus raises a hand in a lively gesture, and a small white dog stands in the foreground before them. The room is suggested by large, shadowy forms and sparse furnishings, focusing attention on the family group and the interplay of glances and gestures. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
