Holy water font - the 20th century - Madonna of Pompeii - XL - 53 cm

Acquasantiera La Madonna di Pompei (formalmente Beata Vergine del Santo Rosario di Pompei) is one of the most cherished and widespread Marian devotions in the world. The culto is inextricably linked to the figure of Blessed Bartolo Longo, a Apulian lawyer and Dominican tertiary who in the second half of the 19th century dedicated his life to the spiritual and material revival of the Valley of Pompeii with three little cherubs on the sides and two relief doves, all painted by hand. Height 53 cm, width 32 cm, depth 9 cm.
