Hong Kong Covers

Hong Kong Covers 1856 (19 Aug.) stampless entire letter from Boston to Canton, bearing large Boston Paid date postmark in red, features are crayon mark "48" at the top left, and a manuscript "53" on top right. On the back with Hong Kong transit on 2 Nov. 1856 cds (Webb type 9). Last mail arrived at Canton post office before it was destroyed by rioting and fire in December 1856. A letter with historical significance.
