HONG KONG (SAR). Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation. 500 Dollars

1968 Jackson $500 H999999! HONG KONG (SAR). Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation. 500 Dollars, 11.2.1968. P-179e. KBN71n. Solid #9's. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. H prefix. Fabulous serial number on this classic high denomination note. Although this date is the most common, solid serial numbers are extremely rare owing to the notes' high purchasing power, even in the late 1960s, when they were last issued. The Jackson $500 was issued from 1935 to 1969, with serial numbers ranging from C000001 to L600000. This gives a total of nine prefixes and eight solid 9s. Here is the chance to own one of the eight pieces issued (but not necessarily extant today). A trophy item in any collection of Hong Kong or 'lucky' number notes. Estimate: $8,000 - $12,000. Provenance: From the Grass Unweeded Collection.

Estimate:£3,030.9
