Excellent 1941 'Judge Head' $50 in Very Fine HONG KONG (SAR). Mercantile Bank of India Limited. 50 Dollars, 29.11.1941. P-240c. KNB16c. PMG Very Fine 25. Serial number 86712. Offered here is a Mercantile 'Judge Head' 50 Dollars with the rare 1941 date. This design was issued in three years: 1935, 1937 and 1941. The rarest date is 1937, with an original print run of 6000 pieces, but of which 4500 (serial numbers 81501-86000) were cancelled and destroyed. The print run for 1941 was even smaller at 5000, but all appear to be issued; hence the rarity of these two notes is now reversed. The design features a classical male bust at left, a watermark of the same at right, multicolour sun rays in the underprint, and two printed signatures at lower left and right. The reverse is brown with light orange and green tints, and an ornate Chinese style building is featured at centre with two serial numbers. This incredible note is in unaltered very fine condition, and is among the highest grades available. An attractive note that is missing from most advanced collections of vintage Hong Kong notes. VF品相1941年"法官頭"伍拾圓 1941年香港有利銀行伍拾圓。 編號86712。有利銀行"法官頭"伍拾圓，帶罕見之1941年份。此設計僅於 1935、1937 及1941三個年份發行。其中1937年原本最罕，原印量6000張，但其中4500張，(編號81501-86000）被註銷銷毀；而1941年印量更少，僅5000張，但全數投入流通，兩者珍罕程度因而有所逆轉。正面左側為古典男性半身像，右側為同款水印，底紋帶多色放射光芒，左下及右下印有印刷簽名；背面呈棕色並泛現淡橙及綠色調，中央為典雅之中國風牌坊建築並帶雙重編號。本品百分百原裝品相，達極佳之VF評級，屬此版別存世最高評分之一。極具吸引力，多數資深香港老鈔藏集中皆告闕如。PMG備註"紙邊有損，筆註"。
